Data & methodology

A growing view of consumer purchasing behavior across Azerbaijan.

Sand IQ is built on purchases captured through the Sandiq consumer app. We are explicit about what that covers — and what it does not.

What we collect

Real purchase transactions: products and SKUs, prices and quantities, retailers, purchase dates, locations, payment information and historical purchase behavior.

How observed share is calculated

Observed share is a brand's transactions as a proportion of Sandiq-observed category transactions in the selected period and filters — not of total market volume.

Associations, not causation

Basket results describe how often products co-occur in observed baskets. They do not prove that one purchase causes another.

Facts versus recommendations

Observed figures and AI-generated recommendations are always presented separately and labelled.

Privacy

Insights are aggregated across users. Sand IQ is designed to surface behavior patterns, not identifiable individuals.

Limits of the dataset

All figures are Sandiq-observed: they reflect purchases captured from Sandiq users, not the total market. Coverage varies by retailer, category and city, and demo dashboards use simulated data for illustration.

Read every figure as “among Sandiq users” and every trend as “observed movement”. Where a segment has thin coverage, Sand IQ says so rather than extrapolating.
